With summer finally here, the warmer temperature means you’ll probably be spending more time outside.

And of course, we all know that we should be wearing SPF daily, but did you know that adding a Vitamin C serum into your routine coupled with your SPF, you will actually maximize your photo-protection?

So with the warmer weather upon us, our estheticians recommend reviewing your skincare routine and possibly making some adjustments depending on your skin type and concerns.

  1. Antioxidants: Look for a gentle cleanser with antioxidants. Antioxidants help neutralize free radicals in our environment and since most of us spend more time outside during the warmer weather, antioxidants are especially important.
  2. Vitamin C: Add a Vitamin C serum into your skincare routine as this is the holy grail of antioxidants and using a Vitamin C serum along with your SPF will give you added protection from the sun.
  3. Enzymes: Consider switching to an enzymes exfoliator. Enzymes are gentler then AHA’s and BHA’s and you won’t run the risk of over exposing your skin to damaging UVA and UVB rays.
  4. Sunscreen: Use sunscreen daily but also look for an on-the-go SPF. Reapplying SPF during those long summer days is a must! Look for ones that you can also reapply over makeup or skincare products.
